The Connecticut Women's Golf Association is committed to promoting junior female golf across the state by sponsoring an extensive junior program. Several events, including a Junior Championship, are open to all junior girls in the State of Connecticut. CWGA also co-sponsors the Connecticut High School Girl's Championship. In addition to providing juniors with the opportunity to learn about golf and compete in tournaments, the CWGA also awards scholarships to deserving young women on the basis of participation in golf programs, academic performance and financial need.
The CW
GA junior girls' golf program is committed to promoting and teaching golf to young females within the state of Connecticut. In addition to learning golf skills and rules, our program will help build integrity, sportsmanship, confidence and teamwork. The girls will have the opportunity to compete, make new friends and have fun. Many of our junior girls go on to obtain golf scholarships and play college golf.
For girls under 11 years of age, check out The First Tee of Connecticut. The First Tee of Connecticut is reaching thousands of youth each year through a variety of programs including In-School Instruction, Group Lessons and Teams. Along with golf instruction, The First Tee of Connecticut teaches a Life Skills curriculum that is based on a set of nine core values: Honesty, Integrity, Sportsmanship, Respect, Courtesy, Judgment, Confidence, Responsibility and Perseverance.
