NEW ENGLAND WOMEN’S GOLF ASSOCIATION 54th ANNUAL CHAMPIONSHIP        

Green Mountain National Golf Course, Killington, Vermont

Tuesday through Thursday, July 6-8, 2010

 

· Entries:  Open May 1 and close June 5. Handicap limit is 17.4. No refunds for withdrawal after June 19.

· Entry Fee:  $180 includes entry, practice round, range balls, cart fee for all tournament play, tee gifts, prizes Continental breakfast each day, barbeque on Wednesday and hors d’oeuvres at awards ceremony on Thursday.

· Prize Structure:  Universal Pro Shop Awards Certificates will be awarded for 20 gross prizes and 3 daily net prizes to be used at any of the New England pro shops.

· Practice Round:  Call Pro shop 802-422-4635 to schedule practice round

· Eligibility:  A contestant may be any amateur woman with a USGA handicap index of 17.4 or less and must be an active member of one of the New England Women’s Golf Association’s member state associations. NEWGA Associations may invite non-members who are residents of their state and have a handicap index that meets the entry requirements. A Junior is any girl who has not reached her 19th birthday by the opening day of the tournament. A Junior of 18 years of age is eligible to play only if she has not yet begun her first semester of college. A Junior does not have to be a member of a NEWGA member state association, but must have a USGA handicap index of 17.4 or less. No parents or guardians are allowed to caddie for juniors. 

· Tournament Information:  Each state has a quota of 18 players. The total field will be 108 players and then cut to the 70 (low score) players including ties for the final round of play, including any player within 10 shots of the leader in player’s respective age category. Players are chosen based on lowest handicap by index as of USGA revision effective June 5. If a state is unable to fill its allotted positions, the unused positions will be divided equally among the states that have a waiting list. USGA accepted distance measuring devices will be allowed
